Today, the sun was shining and I was sneezing (hello, pollen!).....sure signs that spring is around the corner. I haven't felt too inspired lately, but I decided to pull out my soap bases and see if I
could come up with some quick and easy spring-themed soaps. This is what I
came up with:
Plumeria (I had fun with the marbling):
Bunny (I cooled the soap before pouring, that's why it looks
pillowy):
Iced Coffee (I don't feel like this one is done yet, I might
drizzle a bit of dark soap on top or maybe add a coffee bean):
Oatmeal Pear (Love this fragrance combo - OMH + pear):
I hope you all had a great weekend, thanks for looking!
What does it look like when you ARE inspired, if these ones you make when you're not?
ReplyDeleteLove them all, beautidul flower on 'cherry cake', little bunny, taking nap on its pillow (or bed), beautiful cubes embeded into white and coffee cup looks so real. I know it will look even more realistic with details you plan to add. Perfect work for just one day!
Lol, thanks Maja! I guess what I mean by 'uninspired' is that I usually have a clear focus and vision of what I want the soap to look like before I start to make it, but with these ones...I just started making them and decided as I went. I guess sometimes, you just have to jump in :)
DeleteCee the soaps are beautiful! I love the bunny one.....looks like he's taking a nap on a hugh pillow and the iced coffee makes me want to take a trip to Starbucks LOL! I can't wait for spring even if it does bring on the pollen!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gloria, it was a fluke the way the top pillowed on the bunny one, but my daughter liked it so much...I only hope I will be able to recreate it!
DeleteOh that little bun bun <3
ReplyDeleteAw, just like your cute little bunny :D
DeleteThey're all so pretty! OMH+pear sounds intriguing, I bet it smells great...and love the marbling on the Plumeria!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kalla, I've combined OMH with both pear and apple with really good results, both nice combos!
DeleteCee, those are ones of the most beautiful soaps I have seen recently! I am in love with Plumeria soap, stunning!Love the colors, the swirl, the flower... everything!A soap to dream of!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Natalia, I really appreciate that!
DeleteSo inspiring Cee! This sleeping bunny is really unique. So interesting to see the soap surface serves as bad linen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gordana, my daughter thought it was a neat bunny bed too ;)
DeleteWow--I love them all! I've never played much with melt and pour soaps but you make it look like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteOh, that bunny soap...it makes my heart melt!
Thank you DH, the bunny is my daughter's favorite too!
DeleteOh Cee, you really are a natural soaper with loads of good ideas even when uninspired. I love them all, but the Bunny is just my favourite and the oatmeal pear also. I have never tried melt and pour (for me it never counted as soap somehow) but for a little touch here and there it is very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela, I really appreciate it! I like that I can do different things creatively with MP soap, and of course the fact that it's ready to use right away is perfect for an impatient person like me! :D
DeleteYou are so clever and such an inspiration, love these xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much EJ, I really appreciate it!
DeleteThese soaps are all so pretty and perfect for spring! The little bunny is so cute! I like the pillowy effect, like he's taking a sweet little nap!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny! =)
DeleteI'm always so excited to see what you will soap next. You are such a treasure trove of soaping creativity.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet of you Jen, it makes me very happy when I inspire people! :D
DeleteThank you Doreen!
ReplyDeleteYour soaps are very beautiful! I´ve never tried MP-soap, but I will do this.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Maria, I hope you get a chance to try it!
ReplyDeleteI really love that pillowy-top with the bunny! Even if it was a fluke, it's adorable! You do such creative things with both CP/HP and MP!
ReplyDeleteThank you Chrissy, I do have fun switching between and combining all 3 forms :)
ReplyDelete"I haven't felt too inspired lately, but I decided to pull out my soap bases and see if I could come up with some quick and easy spring-themed soaps"
ReplyDeleteHoly moly if I was half as creative as you when you're not too inspired, I'd be thrilled. The bunny is soooo adorable on the pillow, and I love the 3-D effect of the flower sitting on top of the gorgeous marbling. Are you going to sell your coffee soaps to Starbucks? They are so realistic looking! Love, love, love!
Aw thanks Monica! The first coffee soap I made was actually in a Starbucks sample cup...lol!
