Zacil was able to track down the original blog post that she learned this method from, so I have added the link to the original post (How to Make Your Own Melt and Pour Soap) but will add it here too. The blog is in Russian, but the Google Chrome translator does a pretty good job of translating the post, and there is a wonderful picture tutorial on her blog post too. Thanks Zacil for tracking this down for us! http://magicsoap.ru/4443-mylnaya-osnova-svoimi-rukami-s-nulya-kak-sdelat-v-domashnih-usloviyah-recept-i-master-klass.html
Also, I had wanted to try making the homemade melt and pour pliable, so that I could roll it, shape it and cut it, just like I do with my fondant when I am making decorations for cupcakes. I was able to add some glycerin and cornstarch to the homemade melt and pour soap base to get it to a fondant-like consistency. It's been sitting out a couple of days and is still soft and pliable. You can read more about it on my Facebook page
Thanks for reading!
I just want to say that every time I look at this soap all I can think about is cookies... and I get hungry! They look yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteI just haven't quite figured out how to use them yet. I thought they would have firmed up at some point, but they are still just as soft as when I made them!
DeleteI just want to eat them :)
DeleteI just wonder where they are going to finish!? Can't wait to see...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link, I even can understand some! And it's also good to know that Zacil's modified recipe works too! I have some m&p base, but this is so tempting, I need to try it!
I hope you get a chance to try it Maja..if you do, please share your experience! :)
DeleteVery cool, Cee! The soap in front looks like a jelly roll cake. I love how adventurous you are with your soapy experiments!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny, I was trying to make it look like jelly rolls, so I'm glad you can see that too! :)
DeleteI am always impressed with pastel colors you obtain in soaps. I see that M&P will be big playground for you and hardly wait to see your new soap designs using M&P embeds.
ReplyDeleteHi Gordana, yes, I am very excited to experiment more with the MP, I just haven't had time yet....but soon I hope!
DeleteWe know you'll come up with some brilliant way to make the jelly roll work in your favour Cee. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, the comments now are from from 2014. I was wondering if you ever did get a chance to use that homemade M&P Soap, and did you write up a blog about it? Thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. Could you please share how much glycerin and corn starch you like to add? Will it last without a preservative?
